Adtran Netvanta 838

Built a custom patch cable with two 50 pin champ connectors (set for pairs 1 thur 8) and krone disconnect modules in the middle which allows you to manually busyout/fault a line using a small slice of plastic

It could be used to tap into and out of the line using the krone disconnect module key tool

“Craft” Port

The Serial connector aka “craft” port was a bit funny, it needs a straight serial cable and a gender changer, the one marked weird from my collection of cable worked (2-2[RX],3-3[TX],5-5[GND]) cant remember why its weird, just basic I guess. These units were set to 57600,8,N,1(xon/xoff)

Longer Loop Testing

2x 400m(38.4ohms) coils of 2 core 0.50mm Jumper, adding multiple test coils
These coils are of Prysmian 5414370

800 meters yields about 8dB

Speed Testing

doing TCP speed tests yields ~42Mbps each way
